Spotlight on Sponsors: NBT Bank of Duanesburg

By Gail Browning

NBT bank is a financial institution with locations in six Northeastern states. One branch is on Route 20 in Duanesburg. While many think of this structure as only a building in which to transact banking business, NBT is also wholeheartedly dedicated to the community, especially in its support of the Landis Arboretum.

NBT has sponsored the 5K Forest Run and a number of Garden Parties and has chaired the Holiday Auction. NBT staff have regularly participated in such events as the April Workfest and the Spring and Fall Plant Sales. Bonnie Keller, the former Duanesburg branch manager, served as trustee and treasurer on the Landis Board.

One of the most successful fundraisers for Landis was the 2006 auction of a Harley Davidson motorcycle. NBT helped with the promotion by showcasing the Harley at the Duanesburg branch and by selling tickets. Note: While there are a variety of services offered by NBT branches, check out their Home Equity Loans, and their checking accounts tailored to your specific needs.

For this year, NBT has agreed to sponsor the 5K Forest Run/Walk in August, once again demonstrating this institution’s commitment to the community.
