Trees bring people together. At least they did in the case of All American Tree Service owner Jason Krouse and Executive Director Fred Breglia.
About three years ago, Jason and Fred connected when some cabling work needed to be done on a birch tree in front of the Farmhouse. Cabling helps support a tree that has a “known red flag,” Jason explained.
Due to Landis’ non-profit status and the organization’s connection to trees, Jason decided to donate the work.
“We love trees, they’re a great thing, and we like to take care of them,” he said.
All American Tree Service of Duanesburg was established in 2004 by Jason and his wife Sabrina.
“I’m so appreciative of being able to work with my wife, Sabrina Krouse. We would not be where we are today if she wasn’t involved,” Jason said.
Jason also mentioned his employees, Jason Hayes and Cormac Marz, and said he feels incredibly lucky to have them on his team.
Jason and Sabrina met in the military. With a shared love of the outdoors, they moved to Colorado in hopes of starting a tree service. In Colorado, Jason met Luke Glines, who would become his mentor. Luke was a certified arborist and taught Jason the “ropes and techniques” to start his own business.
Jason loves the challenge of tree service because it requires him to think quickly on his feet. When a client calls, All American Tree Service will assess the situation and review options with the client. If the tree does pose a threat, can it be cabled to stay together? Can it benefit from some reduction pruning? Or does it need to be removed altogether?
“We are only stewards of these trees for a short amount of time. We are only here for a short amount of time to take care of these trees,” Jason said. “It’s important not only for our kids, not only for the trees, but for the future.”
