Come ‘peak’ at the color changes of Fall during a nature walk along the paths around Ann Lee Preserve, including the pond and Shaker buildings at 12 Airline Drive, Albany, NY, near the airport and Shaker Village. Enjoy a walk through the preserve and learn about fall color and some plants unique to the area. You will learn why we have fall colors and why there are different colors. As a special treat, you will be able to see and learn about our native Pinkster Azaleas and American Chestnut. The area has many bird species and is known for its history of the Shaker community.
The basic hike is between 1 to 2 miles. Participants should bring walking shoes, bug spray, sun protection, and water bottle, and must have the ability to walk through wood lots and wet areas.
Instructor: Plant Science Professor Emeritus Chris Cash from Cobleskill.
Registration: $5 per person. Note: Members of the Cobleskill SCHOOL program will register through SCHOOL and will not pay the $5 Landis Registration fee.
