Our forests and landscapes face a quiet crisis from two tiny threats. This talk explores how the hemlock woolly adelgid and beech leaf disease cause significant damage. You will learn why these pests matter to our natural world and how they spread. We will teach you how to spot signs of infestation in your own backyard. Finally, we will share the latest research and look at ways to manage the damage or loss of these trees.

Presented by Chris Cash, retired Professor of Plant Science, SUNY Cobleskill, and Ben Furber, Forestry Technician, New York State Hemlock Initiative.

Co-sponsored by Clifton Park Halfmoon Library, Clifton Park Tree Committee, & Landis Arboretum
