Recalibrate - Yoga and Forest Bathing

Registration: Members $20, nonmembers $30 per session; minimum class 7 participants. Preregistration required.


 

Leave your phone in the car. Bring your journal. 

All day, every day we are bombarded with information: from colleagues, from family, from our chosen entertainment. Screens have become such an integral part of our lives. While they are a useful tool, they can cause overwhelm if not managed properly. With all of the responsibilities one must attend to in a day, with life moving online,  it is easy to feel at once connected to everything and yet totally alone.

Recalibrate is a way to reset your relationship to your senses, and yourself. Take just a little bit of time for yourself. There will be yoga and a silent hike on the grounds where you can redirect your intentionality back to yourself. You can have a dialogue with yourself about how you’re feeling, what’s important to you, where you want your attention to be. 

You’ll leave feeling more relaxed, more content, and less burdened. 

Yoga practice will draw your are awareness inward, stretch out your body to relieve tension and focus your mind. Once we’ve created some room internally then we can go into the woods and create connections with nature and ourselves that are not dependent on anyone else. How you relate to yourself is the most important relationship you will ever nurture.

Vanessa Chambers has been a student of yoga for 20 years. She began teaching the same way so many do: by having a driving desire to share what was so powerfully transformative in her own life with as many people as possible. 
Vanessa began teaching in 2008, receiving her 200 hour certification. She then went on to complete 300 hours of advanced yoga teach training, as well as receiving certificates in kid’s yoga (Yoga for Young Ones), Yoga for Seniors, and Thai Yoga.
