John Kribs has been performing professionally for over 40 years. After touring the “coffeehouse circuit” during the mid seventies, he formed the “Racquette River Rounders” with award winning guitarist Danny Gotham and bassist Michael Hadfield. This “eclectic string band” toured the Eastern U.S. and Northeast heavily and released two critically acclaimed albums for Adirondack Records. Later, during the 1980s, as leader of the rockabilly-tinged "Johnny and The Triumphs", John hit the top of the "American Play" charts in several French cities with "Johnny & The Triumphs", the band's eponymous first LP. Their signature song "Red Belvedere", written by John, was also featured on National Public Radio's "Car Talk". In the 1990s he was a member of the award winning Celtic/Bluegrass Band "The McKrells". He has toured the U.S., Canada, Denmark and Norway, and opened shows for Robert Cray, Arlo Guthrie, Joe Cocker and many others. He is also the founder/owner of Blue Line Recordings, host of "The Community Café Music Hour" radio show, and Chairman of The Southern Adirondack Musicians Fund.

Father and Son, John and Orion Kribs, have been making music together a long time. Both are accomplished multi-instrumentalists whose eclectic styles cover everything from Elvis and Carl Perkins to Gershwin, John Lee Hooker and O’Carolan. “Roots” best describes their style but their sound is unique to them. Their songs reflect a wide range of Americana and the sound is that of musical styles not only passed down from father to son but of endless hours of playing, listening and learning together.

The Meeting House has some of the best acoustics around, as well as a deck and a patio to enjoy a bring your own pre-performance dinner. Come even earlier and enjoy a walk around our wonderful Arboretum fields and forests. For more information, contact us at info@LandisArboretum.org or 518-875-6935.
